Meal Plan: Dinner

Following an early morning breakfast, leave for Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival immerse yourself in a full-day game drive, exploring the park’s diverse landscape with nine unique vegetation zones. Admire the grandeur of ancient Baobab trees, the largest in Africa, casting shadows over the wildlife grazing below. Follow the meandering Tarangire River, a magnet for a rich array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and a vibrant assortment of birds.

Famous for its significant elephant population, Tarangire offers a rare opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural setting. Stop for a picnic lunch at an observatory within the park during afternoon, where you can witness animals quenching their thirst at the river, and at times, experience dramatic scenes of lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeest.

Resume your game-viewing adventure, soaking in the wonders of the African savannah, before returning to the lodge for a delightful dinner in the early evening.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Following breakfast at the lodge, we venture out on another round of adventure to Lake Manyara. Your day start off with a hearty breakfast before setting off to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and the Lake Manyara – from which the park draws its name, and which shimmers with the vibrant hues of flamingos. As you venture through the park, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, to name a few. Bird enthusiasts will especially appreciate the abundance of bird species here, from colorful kingfishers to seasonal migratory flocks. Midday, take a break with a picnic lunch before proceeding with your game drive. As the day winds down, drive to Manyara Serena Lodge for dinner and a relaxed evening.

Despite its small size, Lake Manyara boasts diverse vegetation, ranging from savanna to marshes and acacia woodlands. This diversity supports a wide range of habitats, providing a unique glimpse into wildlife in its natural habitat. In the afternoon, enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the designated spots and resume your game-viewing drive before returning to the lodge in the early evening.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After your breakfast, set forth on a thrilling journey toward the world’s most renowned national park, the Serengeti. Although the drive itself may be long, it unfolds as a spectacular adventure. As you drive through the crater highlands, make a brief stop at the rim for an awe-inspiring view of the Ngorongoro Crater – an unforgettable moment, especially for first-time visitors.

As you venture further into the Serengeti, the meaning of its name becomes apparent in the local language: “endless plains.” Spanning 14,763 sq km, the park’s vast plains seem to stretch endlessly to the horizon, challenging your perceptions of distance. These plains serve as the epicenter of the Great Migration, hosting over 1.5 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelope species, including the ubiquitous impalas and Thomson’s gazelles. Savor a delightful lunch en route to your lodge while enjoying a game-viewing drive. Upon arrival at the lodge in the evening, immerse yourself in the lively end-of-the-day safari atmosphere.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

As you wake up this morning, prepare for an early game drive before breakfast to witness wildlife in their active state. The sensation of waking up in the heart of the African safari hub envelops you as you encounter the raw drama of the great Serengeti – the crown jewel of African safaris. After the game drive, we return to the lodge for brunch before venturing out for another game drive.

Legend has it that this is the prime habitat for big cats and large predators, making it the ideal location for an authentic African safari. Smaller yet equally fascinating creatures, such as foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax, and African hares, coexist with over 500 species of birds in this ecosystem. Enjoy a bush picnic lunch in the afternoon, resume your game-viewing activity before returning to your lodge in the early evening.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today, we wake up early for a final morning game-viewing drive before breakfast for another opportunity to spot wildlife at their most active, and witness the sunrise over the African savannah – one of the most beautiful experiences you will ever have. After the game drive, we return to the lodge for brunch, followed by a road trip to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Since you won’t be descending into the crater today, seize another excellent opportunity for a final round of game-viewing en route at a slow pace. On our way, we stop briefly at Olduvai Gorge, the Cradle of Mankind, imbued with profound archaeological significance.

Enter the world-renowned Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site encompassing a vast interrelated ecosystem. This area includes the Crater Highlands, home to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, as well as expansive plains, grasslands, bush, and woodland, covering an impressive 8,300 sq km. Once again, we stop briefly for a few minutes at a viewpoint, treating yourself to sweeping views of the crater, a tantalizing preview of tomorrow’s game drive. After capturing these fleeting moments and relishing the breathtaking views, you’ll proceed to your well-appointed lodge for an overnight stay.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The Ngorongoro Crater is often likened to a modern-day Noah’s Ark, hosting nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa. After an early morning breakfast, we descend nearly 2,000 feet to the crater floor.

Welcome to the eighth wonder of the world and Africa’s most visited destination. Ngorongoro features the best wildlife-viewing opportunities, impressive landscapes, measuring about 20 kilometers wide and ranking among the largest calderas on the planet. Within its steep, unbroken walls, the opportunity to sight the Big Five, as well as various other mammalian wildlife roam freely, is extremely high. As the day’s light softens, we ascend the crater walls and drive to the lodge for dinner and a good night sleep.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Following breakfast, we head to Lake Eyasi with the focus to spend some time with the Hadzabe, an ethnic group that continues to uphold traditional hunting and gathering practices. This experience offers a fulfilling detour as you conclude your Tanzania safari. The Hadzabe, also known as Hadza, speak a language characterized by clicks, possibly related to that of South Africa’s San.

The Hadza men are happy to demonstrate their hunting techniques, while women, on the other hand, offer insights into their fruit-gathering activities. Both of these daily practices take place in the morning, and provide genuine experiences. Through these activities, you will gain valuable insights into many aspects of the Hadza lifestyle.

In the early afternoon, we journey back to Arusha and proceed to the airport for your homeward flight or to other destinations.
