Area to Visit
Arusha, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar
This 14-day safari presents a measured exploration of Tanzania’s leading wildlife regions, followed by time to unwind on Zanzibar. The route includes the Serengeti plains, the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire National Park, each selected for habitat variety and dependable wildlife viewing.
Game drives emphasize observation and photography, with attention given to light, behavior, and landscape rather than distance covered. The final four days are spent in Zanzibar, where the Indian Ocean offers a slower setting after days in the field. Together, these locations provide a clear, well-paced view of Tanzania through wildlife, scenery, and everyday cultural context.

- Day 1: Arrival at (Jro) - Transfer to Hotel in Arusha
You will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a company representative will be waiting to meet you. After completing immigration and customs procedures, you will be transferred by road to your hotel in Arusha. On arrival, assistance is provided with check in, allowing you to unwind. This first evening serves as a quiet introduction, giving you space to adjust before the safari begins the following morning.
Meal Plan: Dinner
- Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. The drive leads into a broad landscape shaped by the Tarangire River, a vital water source that draws wildlife during much of the year. Ancient baobab trees punctuate the savanna, giving the park a distinct character and excellent opportunities for authentic game-viewing experience.
Tarangire is best known as a classic dry-season destination, particularly between July and October, when it boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the country’s northern safari circuit. Often termed the elephant playground, due to its highest number of elephants that has been recorded here and can be easily observed until October when the short-wet season prompts migration. Among other renowned mammalian fauna that you may spot are the hartebeests, wildebeests, zebras, elands, lesser kudus, gazelles, waterbucks, giraffes, impalas, leopards and rhinos throughout the year.
In the afternoon, enjoy a well-prepared packed lunch at a designated picnic area before resuming your game drive. As daylight softens, proceed to the lodge where dinner is served and the evening is reserved for rest and reflection on the day in the park.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Day 3: Tarangire - Lake Manyara National Park
Following breakfast at the lodge, the tour continues toward Lake Manyara National Park. The park is compact when compared to other northern parks, but its value lies in variety rather than numbers. Set beneath the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, the park takes its name from the shallow alkaline lake that characterize both the landscape and wildlife patterns.
The groundwater forest near the entrance supports large troops of habituated baboons and blue monkeys, while the open sections bring sights of elephants, buffalo, Maasai giraffes, hippos, and several antelope species. Leopards are present but rarely seen, and the well-known tree climbing lions remain one of the park’s defining features. Birdlife is a major draw, with waterbirds and forest species well represented, and during certain seasons the lake attracts large congregations of flamingos.
Lake Manyara’s strength lies in its range of vegetation, moving from forest to open grassland, marsh, and acacia woodland within a short distance. This variety creates strong photographic opportunities and offers a clear view of how wildlife adapts to changing habitats. A picnic lunch is taken during the afternoon, followed by continued game viewing. In the early evening, we head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Days 4 & 5: Central Serengeti
After an early morning breakfast, the compass turns towards Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro Highlands, a game reserve that’s best known for its concentration of wildlife and year-round predator activity. The park supports large populations of plains game, which in turn sustain a strong presence of carnivores.
Lion prides are frequently encountered, often resting near kopjes or following herds, while spotted hyenas move in defined clans that dominate much of the open sections of the park. Cheetahs patrol the plains during daylight hours, leopards remain more discreet along riverine corridors, and bat eared foxes only show up in areas with softer soils and good insect life. Jackals and vultures are constant companions, tracking movement and contributing to the balance of the eco-system.
The Central Serengeti also holds more than 520 recorded bird species, making time in the field equally rewarding for photography focused on avian subjects. Martial eagles, secretary birds, kori bustards, and seasonal migrants are regularly observed, particularly in the open grasslands and near watercourses. Large herds of wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelles, and Grant’s gazelles move steadily through the plains, creating frequent moments of interaction between predator and prey. These days are spent following natural activity rather than fixed routes, allowing the nature to shape each game drive in an observant way.
Meals plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Day 6 & 7: South Serengeti
After breakfast, we head towards southern Serengeti near Ndutu. This area forms a natural extension of the wider Serengeti ecosystem, defined by open short grass plains that allow clear visibility and sustained wildlife activity. From December to April, large concentrations of wildebeest occupy these plains, drawing a wide range of predators and scavengers. Wildlife sightings often include bat eared foxes, lions, cheetahs, eland, ostriches, and secretary birds, all moving freely through the open terrain. Rocky outcrops shelter lion prides, making early morning sightings incredible.
Day seven allows extended time in the field, with a full day spent exploring deeper sections of the southern plains, including Moru Kopjes. These granite formations support dense wildlife activity and offer varied photographic perspectives. Return to the lodge in the early evening with a clear sense of time well spent in one of the Serengeti’s most fantastic regions.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Day 8: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
The day begins early, with the sounds of the bush marking the final morning in Serengeti. A simple sunrise breakfast sets the stage before departure, offering a quiet moment to reflect on time spent here. Afterward, we depart for Ngorongoro Crater, with a packed lunch prepared for the day ahead.
On arrival, we descend almost 2,000 feet to the crater floor, an enclosed wildlife arena covering roughly 102 square miles. Formed by a collapsed volcanic cone, the crater measures close to 20 kilometers in diameter and remains one of the largest intact calderas in the world. Its steep walls contain a high density of wildlife, supported by permanent water sources and fertile soils. Lions, elephants known for their large tusks, buffalo, and a range of plains species including wildebeest, zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and reedbuck move between open grassland, swamp, and forest.
Black rhino sightings are frequent, making this one of the most reliable locations in. Africa for observing wildlife. The crater’s birdlife is equally remarkable, particularly around Lake Magadi, a soda lake at the crater’s base that entices hundreds of flamingos to its shallows. As the day draws to a close, we ascend the crater and head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Day 9: Return to Arusha – Fly to Stone Town Zanzibar
Enjoy a delectable breakfast at the lodge before venturing out on your journey back to Arusha. Along the way, relish a scenic drive, passing through diverse zones and terrains, each painting an incredible picture of the African savannah.
Upon arrival in Arusha, your driver will escort you to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon landing, our representative will greet you and guide you to your pre-booked hotel in the spice islands. Zanzibar lives up to every expectation as a rare travel gem. Whether you seek cultural immersion, exhilarating diving adventures, or simply a serene beach retreat, Zanzibar offers it all.
Wind up in a leisurely evening at your lodge, anticipating the delightful beach experiences that await you in the upcoming four days on the enchanting island of Zanzibar.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Day 10 & 11: Stone Town Tour
Wake in the historic heart of Zanzibar and begin the day with breakfast at your hotel. The pace shifts naturally here, as memories of the mainland’s wildlife give way to the history and coastal life of the island. These days offer space to slow down while still remaining engaged, creating a balanced close to the safari adventure on the mainland.
Time is set aside to explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site shaped by centuries of trade and migration. Walking through its narrow streets reveals a mix of Swahili, Arab, Indian, and European influences reflected in carved doors, coral stone buildings, and shaded courtyards. With a local guide, visit the central market, the 19th century cathedral, and residential quarters that trace the city’s complex social past. Each stop adds context rather than spectacle, grounding the experience in lived history.
An alternative option is a guided spice tour outside the city. This visit introduces the agricultural roots of Zanzibar through clove trees, nutmeg, cinnamon, and tropical fruit. The experience includes time with local farmers and a Swahili lunch at a local home before returning to the hotel in early evening.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- DAY 12-13: NUNGWI
The move from Stone Town to Nungwi on Zanzibar’s northern coast brings yet another noticeable change of pace. Here, clear waters meet long stretches of pale sand, and the shoreline remains accessible throughout the day due to minimal tidal change. Nungwi has earned its reputation as one of the island’s most appealing beach areas, supported by well positioned resorts and a setting suited to both rest and activity.
The beach remains lively without feeling crowded, offering space to swim, snorkel on nearby reefs, or join guided boat trips offshore. Long walks along the coast reveal traditional dhow building and daily life shaped by the sea. Horse riding along the shoreline provides a different view of the coast, particularly in the late afternoon. A short distance south, Kendwa Beach offers a quieter alternative with equally clear water and open horizons.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Day 14: Departure Day
The final day of the safari begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by arrangements for transfer to the airport for your onward flight. For those departing later in the day, lunch can be taken at the hotel before check out. Depending on the schedule, the remaining hours may be spent resting, reflecting on the past days, or making use of the hotel facilities. At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport is provided, marking the close of the safari and the continuation of travel plans beyond Tanzania.
